Assist. Prof. Aslıhan Eruzun Özel

Aslıhan Eruzun Özel was born in 1973 in Istanbul. After completing her secondary education at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, where she learned to play the kemençe from İhsan Özgen, Özel graduated from the Composition Department at her alma mater in 1994; and obtained her Master′s degree with the thesis “A Study on Tanburi Cemil Bey’s Kemence Performs” (1997) and doctoral degree, proficiency in Arts, with the thesis “On the Education of Classical Kemence Method” (2007) in the Institute of Social Sciences at Istanbul Technical University. Özel has participated in many concerts and festivals in Turkey and abroad. She currently continues teaching as a faculty member at the Department of Music and Performing Arts in the Faculty of Art and Design of Yıldız Technical University.
