Associate Prof. Burak Tüzün was born in Ankara in 1970. He entered the Violin Department of Ankara State Conservatory in 1982 and studied violin with Semra Bayraktar. He graduated from the class of Prof. Server Ganiev in 1992. In the same year, Tüzün started teaching violin at Anadolu University State Conservatory. He also served as a supporting conductor and conductor in the Conservatory Student Orchestra. He worked orchestra conducting with the conductor Alfred Mişurin and harmony and counterpoint with the composer Sami Hatipoğlu. In 1996, Tüzün was sent to the Moscow Conservatory by Anadolu University. He was appointed to the position of conductor in the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory Opera and Symphony. During his study for 6 years, he completed his doctoral degree, proficient in art, in the class of orchestra conducting of Prof. Leonid Nikolaev. In addition, Tüzün received a fellowship from Eczacıbaşı Music Foundation and completed academic doctoral work on musicology with Prof. Margarita Karatigina. In 2004, he was appointed to the conductor and general music director in the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra. His work with the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra was praised both in Turkey and abroad; and received a music award from Eskişehir Art Association in 2006. Currently Tüzün serves as a conductor and general music director in the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra, State Conservatory Chamber Orchestra, and State Conservatory Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also conducts as a guest conductor in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and State Symphony Orchestras.
