Dilbağ Tokay studied cello with Prof. Reşit Erzin and graduated from the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1986. She continued her doctoral degree with a proficiency in art, at her alma mater in 2008. During her education, she has participated in master classes with renowned musicians such as Alexander Rudin, François Baduel and Mikhail Khomitzer. Alongside of duo performances, she has given several concerts and participated in many national and international festivals including the prestigious Istanbul Music Festival. She has also performed with chamber orchestras and orchestras not only in Turkey and but also foreign countries including Norway, Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Pakistan and North Cyprus. Her performances were recorded for television as part of string quartets and piano trios. She has also taken part in esteemed orchestras such as the Camerata Saygun, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Cemal Reşit Rey Symphony Orchestra and Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, Tokay serves as an assistant professor at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Between 2007 and 2008, she served as an assistant to Peter Bruns and Maria Kliegel in the Ayvalık International Music Class. Her violoncello students have received many prizes in international competitions in Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria and Italy. Since 1998, she has continued with activities of duet works of cello and piano with pianist Emine Serdaroğlu.
