Ece Demirci started playing the piano at the age of 8 taking private lessons from Rana Erksan. Her first piano teacher was State Artist Gülsin Onay, who taught at the Istanbul State Conservatory. After graduating from the master course at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University with honors, Demirci received three scholarships. She went to Germany with a DAAD Scholarship, and studied with Prof. B.Ebert at the Hannover Musikhochschule. She continued her study with Prof. C.Vickers at the Essen Folkwang Musikhochshule, and graduated from Konzert-Examen in 1998. Demirci took composition lessons from the famous Turkish composer Cemal Reşit Rey. She also took private lessons from composer and piano pedagogue Ali Darmar. In 1986, she received a Lions Club scholarship, and attended summer course at the Mozarteum Academy, where she studied with Prof.P. Lang and Prof.T.Nikolaijewa. Demirci also studied with P.Stein, who was A.Schönberg′s assistant, at the New Viennese School Seminar in Essen.
In 1988, she won a third prize in the 8th National Piano Competition. She has taken part in many festivals including the International Troja Music Festival (1993), Spektakel Festival in Münster (1996), C. R. Rey International Piano Festival in Istanbul (1998), and the 34th International Istanbul Music Festival (2006). She has given many concerts and recitals with many orchestras such as Essen University Orchestra, George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, Mersin University Academic Chamber Orchestra, Bursa and Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra, Eskişehir Municipality Symphony Orchestra, and Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. In 2001, she received great acclaim for her concert, held at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Tokyo. Her CD "Piano Sonare" has been released by Triolila Music Company. Currently, Demirci continues to teach as a Professor at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, State Conservatory in Istanbul.
