Emre Şen was born in Ankara in 1973. He began his piano lessons with Prof. Nimet Karatekin when he was 13 years old. He won the first prize in the Mozart Interpretation Contest at the age of 17 years old, and had a chance to study with the famous Polish pedagogue, Andrej Jasinsky, at the Austria Salzburg Mozarteum Summer School. After finishing his education at Bilkent University, he went to Italy in 1995 to study with Marcella Crudeli. He won the first prize in the International Roma Piano Contest and had an opportunity to play in European tour. He completed Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste at the Paris Ecole Normale de Musique and received the first prize. Two years later he was awarded the Albert Roussel First Prize among the first prize winners of Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste at the Paris Ecole Normale de Musique.  He continued his study with Oxana Yablonskaya in United States. He has participated in numerous international contests and concert activities, and received many prizes. These international competitions Emre Şen was awarded are as following:

1990, First prize, Istanbul Mozart Interpretation Competition.
1995, Second prize, Israel Tel Hat International Piano Competition.
1995, First prize, and special prize, Rome International Piano Competition.
1996, Second prize, Francis Poulenc International Piano Competition in France.
1997, First prize, Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Diplome Superior de Concertist.
1999, First prize, Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Diplome Superior de Concertist Superior de Concertist, among other first prize winners.
2000, Second prize, International Chopin Competition, Turkey.
2001, First prize, Istanbul Soloist of the BBC Philharmonic competition.

In 2001, BBC Philharmonic organized a competition within the framework of Is Bank Art Activities. Emre Şen was chosen as a soloist to play Tchaikovsky Concert No. 1 with BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Istanbul. It was broadcasted in England at the BBC3 radio channel. Currently he serves as a coordinator at the Piano Department of Bilkent University and has given many concerts in Turkey and abroad. In addition to various concerts given in Turkey, he received critiques highly praising his performance at his concert in Russia, Germany, Israel, Japan, Australia, France and Italy. He was honored with receiving the prestigious art prize from Eskisehir Anadolu University, where he also had bachelor of music degree. Emre Şen is also the owner and director of the Chopin Music House in Ankara, which he established in the year of 2000 where he holds advanced piano classes and workshops.
