Engin Recepoğulları was born in Ankara in 1980. He spent his childhood in Izmir. He was given a saxophone by his father in middle school. He learned how to play saxophone from Erdoğan Kolgar who taught at Izmir Turkish High School. Recepoğulları continued his music during studying economic and administrative science at Dokuz Eylül University. He performed in the Logos group, which was founded by Ömür Gidel, with Barış Tuncel, Orçun Aktaşlı and Evren Karakul. Recepoğulları has participated in many Jazz festivals. After completing his military duty, he moved to Istanbul. He has continued his music with many Jazz groups including Cem Aksel Band, Ozan Musluoğlu Quartet, Baki Duyarlar Quartet, Onder Focan Sextet, and Bilal Karaman Group in Turkey and abroad. He has also played with famous Jazz musicians such as Kerem Görsev and Ricky Ford. Recepoğulları is a member of TRT Jazz Orchestra.
