Ferit Odman was born in 1982. He began his music studies in Sweden as an AFS exchange student in 1999. He studied music at Istanbul Bilgi University with a full scholarship and graduated in 2001. In 2004, Odman attended the School for Improvisation Workshops in New York. He pursued his studies at William Paterson University with a Fulbright Scholarship. After studying with jazz artists such as Mulgrew Miller, Harold Mabern and Bill Goodwin, Odman completed his master’s degree in Jazz performance in 2006. During his stay in New York, Odman performed jazz music. In Turkey, he has performed and toured with his own quintet and Turkish jazz pianist Kerem Görsev. In 2010, Odman recorded and released his debut album “Nommo” with Vincent Herring, Brian Lynch, Burak Bedikyan and Peter Washington in New York. Currently, he continues to perform in Turkey and abroad.
