Furkan Özyazıcı was born in 1987. In 1996, he started playing piano with Prof. Nazım Bağırov in Trabzon. In 1999, Özyazıcı entered the Faculty of Music and State Arts of Bilkent University. He then continued his study under Prof. Meral Yapalı at Istanbul University State Conservatory. In 2006, he won a bronze medal in the Asean International Chopin Piano Competition, which was organized by the Chopin Society in Kuala Lumpur. In 2008, Özyazıcı won first prize “Grand Prix” and “Akil Koci Foundation Special Prize” in the Ars-Kosovo Music Competition, which was organized by the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth. In the next year, he became one of the finalists in the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Rome. In 2010, he received first prize in the “American Protege Romantic Music Competition” in New York.

Özyazıcı has worked with distinguished pianists and pedagogues such as Andrei Diev, Emanuel Ax, Vitaly Margulis, Vassily Lobanov, Michelle Campanella, Diane Andersen, Marcella Crudeli and Dmitri Alexeev. Özyazıcı has had many solo concerts and chamber music concerts both in Turkey and abroad. Recently, he performed in the “Young Talents” series in Paris Les Invalides Musée de l’Armée’ on the occasion of Turkish Year in France. He also gave a recital in the Chopin Recital within the 38th International Istanbul Music Festival; and in the New York Carnegie Hall, the Weill Recital Hall in New York. Since 2009, Özyazıcı has continued his study with Prof. Andrei Diev at Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory.
