 Güvenç Dağüstün was born in Ankara in 1978. He entered State Conservatory of Hacettepe University and became a student of tenor singer, Pekin Kırgız. He passed an examination of Ankara State Opera and started working as the youngest singer. He participated in the class of Mezzo soprano singer, Prof. Margarita Lilova in the international Varna Festival in Varna, Bulgaria. In the next year, Dağüstün passed an examination of Vienna University of Music and Stage Arts, and studied with Prof. Lilova. He received a fellowship from Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı and moved to Vienna in Austria. In 2001, as a guest singer, Dağüstün performed the principal role “Belcore” on the stage of Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” in the Izmir State Opera. In Innsbruck, he performed as a baritone soloist as well as countertenor soloist in the stage of C. Off’s “Carmina Burana”, which was conducted by Georg Schöhe. It was highly approved.  In Vienna, Dağüstün performed as a soloist in Greek composer, Perikles Liakakis’s opera “Der gestiefelte Kater”, which was performed for the first time. Dağüstün performed in the stage of Fazıl Say’s “Nazım” with Fazıl Say, Genco Erkal and Sertab Erener in Efes Antique Theatre, Istanbul Harbiye Open Theatre and Atatürk Culture Center in 2002. Dağüstün also gave a recital with Fazıl Say in Rumeli Hisarı, Istanbul. With Fazıl Say, Genco Erkal and Zuhal Olcay, Dağüstün recorded Fazıl Say’s “Nazım” into CD and DVD, which was conducted by İbrahim Yazıcı and performed with Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. “Turco-Latino Connection”: a Jazz joint concert project with Sertab Erener was highly praised. As of today Dağüstün continues his works with Prof. Lilova in Vienna.
