Hande Dalkılıç was born in Ankara in 1974. After her initial piano lessons with Prof. Güherdal Karamanoğlu Çakırsoy, Dalkılıç started her academic training in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University. She studied with Prof. Ersin Onay up to the level of doctorate, cultivating her prowess and her musical formation, which had already begun to mature and distinguish at young ages. During her study, she focused on Ahmed Adnan Saygun’s piano works. Her first CD, which includes the world premier of Ahmed Adnan Saygun’s Op.76 Piano Sonata, was released in 2000 under the BMP label. This recording was re-released in 2008, again on the BMP label. Dalkılıç has also recorded Saygun’s Op. 34, first Piano Concerto (BMP), Muammer Sun’s “Country Colors” for solo piano (BMP and Kalan) on the occasion of Turkish Composer Cemal Resit Rey′s centennial. She also recorded his piano concerto "Variations on an Istanbul Song" with Bursa State Symphony Orchestra. This CD was sponsored by Central Bank of Republic of Turkey and was released on October 2004. Her recent CD, released by Kalan Music, in which Dalkılıç performs complete solo piano works of Ulvi Cemal Erkin, is an indication of the artist′s consciously chosen and carefully shaped professional career as a performer of Turkish composers. She always features works by Turkish composers especially at her concerts abroad. She has participated in some important festivals, including the 34th International Sofia Music Festival, International Cartage Festival in Tunisia 2002, the 18th and 22nd International Ankara Music Festival, the 5th Antalya Piano Festival, 9th International Bellapais Festival in North Cyprus and D-Marin Turgut Reis 5th International Music Festival.
Besides her performances as guest soloist with many Turkish and foreign orchestras, Dalkılıç has also given recitals and chamber music concerts in such countries as Bulgaria, Egypt, England, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Switzerland, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tunisia and Ukraine.
Currently, Dalkılıç continues her career as a soloist through her concerts both in Turkey and abroad, together with her radio and TV broadcasts. Her profound and genuine interpretations, with a powerful technique that forms her virtuosity, reach a wider audience by the day. She also serves as an Associate Professor Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.
