Hande Sarıcı Menekşe was born in Ankara in 1978. In 1989, she entered Istanbul University State Conservatory and studied clarinet with Gürhan Eteke, piano with Birsen Ulucan and chamber orchestra with Halit Turgay. She participated in many activities at the conservatory, and gave solo and group concerts with orchestra and chamber orchestra. At the conservatory, she also studied clarinet with Mehmet Ermakaster (1993-1994) and chamber orchestra with Siophan Greally (1995-1997). Menekşe played with Orion Sextet in the Istanbul Music Festival “Young Talents Series”. She gave concerts with Ametist Clarinets Quintet in the 28th Istanbul Music Festival. She participated in the 29th Istanbul Music Festival, and played with Arion String Quartet.
With Ametist Clarinet Quintet, Menekşe has given concerts in Eskişehir Music Festival, Afyon Karahisar Classical Music Festival, and many Classical Music Festivals in Izmir, Ankara, Mersin and Bodrum. She has also given many concerts with Ametist Clarinet Quintet in foreign countries such as Japan (Tama Clarinet Festival, 2005), Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, India and Pakistan. Menekşe has also performed with Akbank Chamber Orchestra, Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, and Milli Reasürans Orchestra in many national and international concert halls.
