Önder Özkoç was born in Konya in 1978. He studied Economics at Hacettepe University in Ankara from 1996-2000. He began his musical studies by playing mandolin in primary school and continued it with bağlama, guitar, oud, and piano. He has played Ottoman/Turkish music, Turkish folk music, jazz and rock music for many years. From 2000 to 2008, Özkoç pursued his musical study at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, where he studied composition with Serdar Muhatov, and completed his Master′s degree in composition and orchestration with Turgay Erdener. Özkoç currently continues his doctoral degree in composition with Turgay Erdener and works as lecturer at the Composition Department of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory.
