Seda Röder was born in Istanbul in 1980. She started her music education at the age of ten. In 1993, she won the first prize in the Young Talented Contest, which was organized by the Çukurova State Philharmonic Orchestra, and played Mozart’s piano concert No. 23 in A major (K488) with the orchestra. In 2000, Röder received the second prize in the National Chamber Music Contest in Çorum. After graduating from the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in 2001, she continued her study at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg between 2001 and 2006. From 2006-2007, she completed her postdoctoral degree in piano with Gerhard Oppitz at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. In 2007, Röder received a fellowship and started working as a teaching assistant at the Music Department of Harvard University. Between 2008 and 2010, she was a piano instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2010, Röder received the “Excellence in Teaching” Award from Harvard University Book Center for her extraordinary teaching skills. She has had large repertoires including Couperin and Stockhausen, and has given numerous recitals and concerts not only in the US, but also in Turkey and Europe. Currently, she works as an Associate of the Music Department at Harvard University.
