Prof. Şehvar Beşiroğlu

Prof. Şehvar Beşiroğlu was born in Istanbul in 1965. She graduated from the Instrument Department at the Turkish Music State Conservatory of Istanbul Technical University in 1986. She completed her master’s degree in 1988 and doctoral degree, proficiency in arts in 1994 at her alma mater. She pursued her post doctoral research at Harvard University and received professorship in 2005. Currently, Beşiroğlu serves as a deputy director in the Turkish Music State Conservatory, the director in the Musicology Department, and as a board member in the MIAM. Beşiroğlu performs as a member of the Kantemir Topluluğu.
