Ayşe Gencer

Ayşe Gencer was born to a musician family, and learned piano from her grandmother. Gencer won a vocal competition, which was held by TRT Istanbul Radio, and started her career. She performed with Tuna Ötenel (piano), Nezih Yeşilnil (contrabass), and Cankut Özgül (dram) at the club, Bodrum Jazz Now. Since then, Gencer has given many concerts and performed in many culture activities and Jazz festivals such as Akbank Jazz Festival, Yapı Kredi Jazz Festival, Antalya Jazz Festival, Bordum Jazz Festival, and Alanya Jazz Days. In 2011, she released her album "Ayşe Gencer / But Beautiful." Gencer currently lives and performs in Istanbul.
