Levent Öktem

Haluk Levent Öktem was born in Izmir in 1955. After graduating from Ankara State Conservatory, he started working as an actor at the Istanbul State Theatre in 1979. He taught acting at Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1980-1981 and Bilsak Theatre in 1992-1994. Öktem performed in the Theatre An Der Ruhr in Germany in 1995-1997. In 2003 he started teaching at the Theatre Pera. In the season of 2006-2007 he founded "Bi Tiyatro" with Bihat İleri and Laçin Ceylan. Besides theater plays, Öktem has acted in various films and TV series. He also works as a voice actor. Öktem has received several awards including Sadri Alışık Theater Award, the "Best Supporting Actor of the Year" in the 9th Afife Theater Awards in 2005, and the "Most Successful Musical or Comedy Actor of the Year" in the 13th Afife Theatre Awards in 2009. He currently continues his work in Istanbul.
