Engin Günaydın was born in Tokat in 1972. He studied at Hacettepe University Conservatory and transferred to Mimar Sinan University Conservatory in 1992. In 1997, Günaydın performed the role of “Zabıta İrfan” in the comedy drama “Bir Demet Tiyatro”. He then performed the role of “Tarık Usta” in the TV drama “Aşkım Aşkım”. In 2001, Günaydın acted in the film “Yazgı”, which was directed by Zeki Demirkubuz. Günaydın was awarded "the best supporting actor” for the role of "Necati" in “Yazgı” in the Ankara Film Festival. In 2003, he performed in dramas such as “Hadi Uç Bakalım” and “Alacakaranlık”. In 2004, he played in the drama “Size Baba Diyebilir miyim?” and the film “Yazı Tura”. In 2004-2009, Günaydın performed the role of “Burhan Altıntop” in the drama “Avrupa Yakası”. In 2010, he was awarded "the best scenario" prize by the SİYAD (Sinema Yazarları Derneği / Turkish Film Critics Association).
