Orhan Alkaya was born in Istanbul in 1958. He studied at the Faculty of Law of Istanbul University and the School of Press at Marmara University. He has written many art critiques, political articles, poetry works and essays. He has published six books. As an actor, Alkaya has performed in many plays at the Istanbul City Theatre as well as films and TV series. In 2008-2009 he was appointed to the general art director of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre. Alkaya currently lives and works in Istanbul.
