Prof. Dr. Murat Tuncay was born in Ankara in 1948. After finishing TED Ankara College in 1968, he graduated from the Theater Department in the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography at Ankara University in 1972. He then completed his master′s degree in Theater in 1974. From 1973 to 1976, Tuncay worked as a dubbing expert at the Film, Radio and Television Education Center, connected with Turkish Ministry of Education. In 1976, he was appointed to the Theater Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Ege University. Tuncay completed his doctoral degree in 1981, and became an assistant professor in 1985, associate professor in 1987, and full professor in 1993. Prof. Tuncay served as Dean in 1996, and the Chair in the Department of Stage Arts in 1998. He has published many academic publications on Theater History, Dramaturge, and Music Theater. Prof. Tuncay served as one of the founders of the Izmir Foundation for Culture Arts and Education (IKSEV), and Izmir Contemporary Culture, Arts Activities Association.
