Tülay Günal was born in Kastamonu in 1970. She graduated from the Theatre Department in the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University. After working as a singer in Istanbul, she began acting in the Diyarbakır State Theatre in 1993. Since 2007 she has been working as an actress at the Ankara State Theatre.
Besides acting in the State Theatres, Günal has performed in various private theatres, such as Dostlar Theatre, Oyun Atölyesi and DOT. She has also acted in several films and TV series including "Sis ve Gece" (film, 2007), "Küçük Günahlar" (film, 2011), "Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar" (TV series, 2015), "Umutsuz Ev Kadınlar" (TV series, 2013-2014), "Asi" (TV series, 2007-2009) and "Yuvadan bir kus uçtu" (TV mini series, 2003).
Günal has received many awards including the Best Musical Actress Award in the Afife Jale Theatre Awards (2012) for her performance in the play "Ben Bertolt Brecht."
