Alaaddin Kopar

Alaaddin Kopar was born in 1938. He is the grandson of Salman, a shoe maker, which was known as "köşker" in 1800′s. He learned his work from his father Mehmet, master craftsman, who has been working since 1944. The traditional Yemeni and Çarık are made in the traditional way without any chemical materials. His sons, Hüseyin and Mehmet have succeeded him in this work. Alaaddin also trains his grandson, Fatih, and tries to pass the traditional culture on to the next generations.
