Ali Çalışır

Ali Çalışır was born in Kahramanmaraş in 1966.  After finishing at the Vocational School of Business Administration at Middle Eastern Technical University, he graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at Anadolu University. He started learning marbling art (ebru) and calligraphy in 1999. He then developed his own style. Çalışır has had two solo exhibitions, and has participated in four group exhibitions in Turkey. He won first prize in the category of marbling in the 14th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition, which was organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He has learned calligraphy from Kamil Nazik. Currently, Çalışır continues to work at his workshop in Istanbul.
