Ali Rıza Gökdemir

Ali Rıza Gökdemir was born in 1960. He has been sculpturing statues and objects out of Meerschaum for 34 years. In his childhood, he learned from famous craftsmen how to sculpture Meerschaum. He developed his skill and became a master craftsman in a short time. Meerschaum, which is taken in Eskişehir, is cut skillfully and made into gift wares, accessories and jewelry. Not only Turkish but also foreign tourists have an interest in Meerschaum works. Gökdemir continues his work with young craftsmen, who were trained by him, and sends their works to numerous touristic areas in Turkey.
