Ayfer Güleç

Ayfer Güleç was born in Eskişehir in 1962. After graduating from the Department of Painting-Work in the Faculty of Education at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University in 1983, she taught art at numerous schools. She has participated in more than 30 painting exhibitions, and runs the art gallery. In 1991, Güleç learned how to make felts from the artisan Muarrem Şengül at his workshop in Balıkesir. Since then, she has made felts instead of painting. Güleç has been featured in newspapers and art magazines, and has spoken at art seminars. She has also had her felt workshop and taught children how to make felt at international festivals. Currently, she continues her work in Izmir.
