Aysel Şengüder

Aysel Şengüder was born in Ankara in 1965. She graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Gazi University and the Faculty of Economics & Administrative Sciences at Hacettepe University. Şengüder worked as a financial director in Garanti Bank for 15 years. She started painting when she was 5 years old and studied painting at Bülent Çetinor’s Watercolor Workshop and miniature at Altın Oran’s Miniature Workshop. In 2000, Şengüder had a solo watercolor exhibition in Nevzemin Art Gallery in Istanbul. In 2002, she began to work on Ottoman miniature and paint the Ottoman Sultan’s Kaftan. The Kaftan collection was exhibited in the Pera Museum in 2006. Some of them have been exhibited in the Turkish Cultural Foundation Istanbul Office since 2007. Her works have regularly been exhibited in various art galleries in Turkey and can be seen in private collections both in Turkey and abroad.
