Behçethan Aktaş

Bahçethan Aktaş was born in Eskişehir in 1968. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Eskişehir Anadolu University. He had an interest in Meerschaum stone carving work which was his father’s business and learned how to carve meerschaum stones. Aktaş applied the art of Ebru (marbling) and Turkish Calligraphy on Meerschaum stones for the first time and introduced these works in many exhibitions and fairs both in Turkey and aboard. Aktaş also serves as a tutor at the handicrafts class of Meerschaum stone.
