Beki Almaleh was born in Istanbul in 1931. After graduating from a Jewish High School in 1949, she worked at Singer sewing machine company for 8 years and Mobil Oil Turkish A. Ş. as an accounting and a secretary of director of finance for 27 years. She retired in 1984.
Almaleh began learning painting from Seniye Fenmen, a ceramist and painter, from 1987 to 1988. In 1988 she joined ebru classes, directed by Nusret Hepgüş at the Turkish Cultural Service Foundation. Almaleh continued learning ebru art from Arkın Allen besides Nusret Hepgül. Since 1989 she has been working as a professional marbling (ebru) artist. She has participated in over 33 group exhibitions and held three solo exhibitions. Her ebru works have been published in various publications and can be seen in many private collections in Turkey and abroad. Almaleh has been a member of the Artists and Art lovers Association since 1992. She currently continues her work in Istanbul.
