Canan Bayrak

Canan Bayrak was born in Ankara in 1950. She graduated from the Ceramic Department of State Fine Art School in 1975. In 1977 she won the third prize in the touristic gifts project competition, which was held by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism. She established her own workshop, “Canan Bayrak Ceramic Art Workshop” in 1978. In 1995 she received a letter of appreciation from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism because of her contribution to Anatolian Handicrafts Art. Bayrak also produced ceramics for VAKKO between 1978 and 1996. She worked together with Derishow Mimarca as well. She has prepared special collections for DÖSİM (the Turkish Ministry of Culture). She continues to make both artistic and industrial ceramics at her workshop.
