Ezgi Turan was born in Istanbul in 1982. She studied economics at Istanbul University. In 2000, she started learning marbling art (Ebru) from Ayla Makas at the Turkish Culture Service Foundation. She also learned traditional book binging. Since 2002, Turan has had several solo exhibitions, and has participated in many group exhibitions and art festivals. In 2005, she attended ceramic class at Gül Erali’s workshop. Turan has taught marbling at a private school. Between 2004 and 2006, she worked and exhibited her works at the workshop in Avcılar, Istanbul. In 2009, her work was recognized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and she received a certificate. Since 2009, Turan has worked marbling at her workshop Galatart in Istanbul.
