Fahrettin Mercan

Fahrettin Mercan was born in Diyarbakır in 1950 and finished primary and middle school. Before going to primary school, he began making copper works, which was his father’s business.  He served as a chairman in the Chamber of Diyarbakır Coppersmith between 1981 and 2006. He has trained over 30 apprentices. Mercan continues to make copper works at his own workshop in spite of his illness.
