Asiye Güler Kant

Asiye Güler Kant was born in Balıkesir in 1958 and finished primary school in 1972. She finished open middle and high school. She learned how to embroider “Maraş İşi” by sewing machine and started making traditional costumes. Kant researches traditional motifs and embroiders them on velvet, silk with gilded golden and silver thread. Kant has developed and renewed her skills to make “bindallı” with the support of the Mayor of Edremit Municipality, Yunus Bozney. As of today Kant works as a tutor at the weaving class in the Edremit Municipality.
