Zahide Durmaz

Zahide Durmaz was born in Adıyaman. She makes Besi dolls dressed in traditional Adıyaman folk costumes. In 1997, she received an enterprise fund from the European Union and started exhibiting and selling Besi dolls. Since then, Durmaz has introduced Besi dolls and Adıyaman folk costumes not only in Turkey but also abroad, expecially in the US, Europe, and Japan. She continues to live and make Besi dolls in Adıyaman.
