Fuat Başar

Fuat Başar was born in Erzurum in 1953. When he studied in the Faculty of Medicine, he met Mustafa Duzcan and learned calligraphy. In 1978, Başar started learning Ebru (marbling) from one of the most famous Ebru artists Mustafa Düzgünman. In 1980, Başar moved to Istanbul, and received a certification for calligraphy from Hamid Aytaç, and for Ebru from Mustafa Düzgünman (1989). Since then, Başar has worked as a professional calligrapher and Ebru artist at his workshop in Küçükayasofya, Istanbul. He has had more than 300 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and foreign countries. His works can be seen in many collections in Turkey and abroad.
