Prof. Günay Atalayer

Prof. Günay Atalayer was born in Burdur in 1951. After finishing under graduate education in 1973, she worked as a textile designer at the Osman Kermen and Ort A.Ş. for 2 years. In 1983, she received an efficient art  diploma in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. She became an Assistant Professor (1986), Associate Professor (1996) and then Professor (2002). Her works are made by mix of the Ikat and the candle wax techniques. Prof. Atalayer has had five solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. She has also been awarded many times for her textile art works, and published many articles. As of today, Prof. Atalayer serves as the Chair of the Textile Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University.
