Hamdullah Güneş

Hamdullah Güneş was born in Batman in 1974 and finished high school. Between 1989 and 1994, he worked as a tailor and carpet repairer. In 1996, he started making handicrafts, especially folk dolls with regional clothes and it became his profession. In 2002, Güneş founded his workshop in Batman. In the same year, he participated in the provincial handicrafts fair, which was held in the Bolu Kolu Hotel and sold 250 dolls all together. In 2005, he participated in the 12th Handicrafts Fair as well and was awarded first prize. Güneş continues to make folk dolls at his workshop with his family.
