Faris Ayhan

Faris Ayhan was born in Hasankeyf, Batman. He started weaving textile at the age of nine. He remembers that there were more than 500 weaving looms in Hasankeyf when he was ten years old. Since then Ayhan has woven silk textiles as well as kilims, runners, prayer rugs, and saddle bags.  Ayhan, the last remaining weaver in Hasankeyf, continues weaving at his workshop.
