Hanife Çetinkaya

Hanife Çetinkaya is one of the weavers who produce Ayancık linen cloth. She was born in 1932 in Gürsökü village, in the district of Ayancık. She started to weave when she was 20 years old. She is not only weaving but also cleaning and flattening linen. She plants and harvests flax, makes threads and strings the loom and starts to weave. She then embroiders on the finished fabric.
