Hediye Bayraktar

Hediye Bayraktar was born in 1938 in the district of Bozdoğan, Pınarlı village, near Aydın. She learned how to make needle works (iğne oyaları) from her mother when she was child. Oya making is one of the traditional arts in Anatolia. Researchers say that its origin can be traced back to 1200 B.C.
