Kadir Sakoğlu

Kadir Sakoğlu was born in Ankara in 1967. He graduated from Gazi University Vocational School of Finance. When he worked at a private sector, he met famous calligrapher Doğan Çilingir and began learning calligraphy. Sakoğlu also learned calligraphy from Adem Sakal and Fuat Başar and received a professional license in sülüs and nesih scripts from them in 2003. In the same year, Sakoğlu entered the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Teaching at Gazi University and graduated in 2007. He taught calligraphy class at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for seven years. He also taught at a course, organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since 2004, he has served in a committee belonging to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism to raise qualified instructors. Sakoğlu has participated in numerous group exhibitions and competitions in Turkey and abroad and received many awards. He currently lives and works in Ankara.
