Mehmet Gürsoy

Mehmet Gürsoy was born in Denizli in 1950. He has decorated ceramics with traditional Iznik and Kütahya motifs such as detailed flowers, colorful fishes and birds. He does not copy ceramic motifs of the 16th century but adapts them with some modifications. They then become his own original ceramic designs. His works have been exhibited in Turkey and aboard, including the International Folk Arts Museum in New Mexico and the permanent collection of Indiana University Art Museum. Gürsoy has taught at several universities and participated in many international festivals as a guest. Currently, he continues his work in Kütahya.
