Mesiha Çelebi

Mesiha Çelebi was born in Istanbul. She finished primary and middle school education in Istanbul. After graduating from Kültür College, she went to Lausanne to study French language at Ecole Lemania between 1970 and 1971. Çelebi graduated from the Department of French Philology at Marmara University. She learned marbling (Ebru) art at a school in the Topkapı Palace Museum. In 1980, Çelebi moved to Frankfurt, where she took classes of oil painting at a Stadelschule. In 2002, she founded her Ebru workshop. In 2010, she had her solo exhibition "Sudaki İzler" in Istanbul, Bakırköy İspirthane Culture Center. Currently, Çelebi continues her Ebru work in Frankfurt.
