Mesut Dikel was born in İçel in 1966. He graduated from the Department of Painting-Work Education in the Faculty of Fine Arts Education at Marmara University in 1990. Since then, he has lived in Adana and taught painting and worked as a painter. He is a vice chairman of Adana Art Council and member of the Adana Association of Culture and Art and the Adana Association of Amateur Photography. Besides oil paintings, Dikel also works on airbrush, graphics, photography, marbling (Ebru), miniature, calligraphy, and metal cut art. His works can be seen in official and private collections in Turkey and abroad including the United States, Germany, Holland, Australia and Romania. His works have also been published in national and international graphic and illustration catalogues. Dikel has won many awards in numerous competitions of paintings, illustrations, graphics, posters, emblems, and logos. He has had 24 solo exhibitions and participated in over 80 group exhibitions in Turkey. In the last two years, Dikel has focused on marbling (Ebru), calligraphy and metal cut work at his own workshop. He learned calligraphy from the calligrapher Davut Bektaş. Dikel has also given art education and taught painting at his workshop.
