N. Nur Avlupınar

N. Nur Avlupınar was born in Kütahya in 1966. She participated in the class “Development of Turkish Ceramic Arts” in 1984, and started decorating ceramics. She won the first prize at the competition of ceramic plates with traditional design, which was organized by the Vehbi Koç Foundation (1985) and the competition of “Traditional Turkish Decorative Art”, which was organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism (1989). In 1995-1996 and 2003, she published her articles on ceramic art in magazines such as “Yedi İklim Sanat Kültür Edebiyat”, “Kubbealtı Kültür Sanat Mecuması” and “Kütahya Araştırma Kitabı.” Since 1995, she has been working on ceramic designs and color in the classical style with Assistant Prof. İnci A. Birol and received a certificate in 1998. In 1999, Avlupınar participated in the “Grup Nokta”, which was founded for the continuation and development of Traditional Turkish Arts. In 2000-2001, she taught traditional ceramic arts within the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Avlupınar continues her work at the Arı Sanat Evi.
