Nesime Kantar graduated from the Department of Sociology at Mimar Sinan University. In 2000, she started learning marbling art (Ebru) from Ayla Makas at the Caferağa Medresesi. In 2001, Kantar continued learning marbling at Yılmaz Eneş’s ebru workshop. Besides marbling work, she studied traditional book binging with Serra Güney Özkan in 2002. In 2009, her work was recognized as an art work by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and she received a certificate. She has had solo exhibitions, and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey. Currently, Kantar continues to work at her workshop Galatart in Istanbul.
