Nimet Fatma Kütük

Nimet Fatma Kütük was born in Şile in 1945. After finishing a teacher training college, she served as a teacher in a school for 26 years. In 1989 she retired and began making traditional Şile handicrafts, especially Şile cloth as a hobby. Kütük has made traditional Şile handicrafts and adapted them into modern forms for over 20 years. She has participated in many exhibitions and competitions, which were organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism; and collaborated with several associations and foundations. She makes embroidered night dresses, coverings, blouses and pouches for lavender, using 100 % cotton weavings and floss silk.
