Nurullah Özdem

Nurullah Özdem was born in Erzurum in 1984. He was introduced to calligraphy by his grandfather and calligrapher Şevket Özdem in his childhood. In 1998, he started learning calligraphy from Şevket Özdem. Nurullah continued to learn calligraphy from Associate Professor Dr. Bilal Sezer. In 2004, Özdem started learning calligraphy from Davud Bektaş. In 2005, Özdem graduated from the Department of Painting-Teaching in the Faculty of Fine Arts at  Atatürk University in Erzurum. In 2007, Özdem obtained his professional license in calligraphy, especially sülüs and nesih scripts from Davud Bektaş and Hasan Çelebi in a ceremony, which was organized by IRCICA. He has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. His works can be seen in many private collections. Currently, Özdem continues to work at his workshop in Istanbul.
