Ömer Şen was born in Erzurum in 1975. He graduated from the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Atatürk University in 2001. He then moved to Istanbul and worked as a restorator of illumination and antique art works. In 2007 he learned divani from obtained famous calligrapher Hasan Çelebi. After starting oil painting in 2010, Şen has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. In 2016, he held his solo exhibition "Otantisite" at the Nişart Gallery in Istanbul. Şen currently continues his work in Istanbul.
