Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu

Assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Marmara University in 1992. He completed his master’s degree at the Social Science Institute of Marmara University in 1995, and doctoral degree at the Turkic Institute of Marmara University in 2002. In 2005, Açıkgözoğlu obtained his professional license in marbling art (ebru) from Sadreddin Özçimi. He continues to learn calligraphy from Hüseyin Kutlu. Açıkgözoğlu had his solo exhibitions in Istanbul, London, Edinburgh and Glasgow. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Between 2003 and 2007, he taught at the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Sakarya University. Currently, he teaches at the Department of Art History in the Faculty of Letters of Marmara University.
