Peyami Gürel was born in Istanbul in 1959. After studying economy in Istanbul, he researched art and philosophy at several universities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In addition to his art gallery, which he founded in 1993, Gürel has managed a special multimedia and graphic design company. He has also worked as an art director and art advisor for many companies. As an artist, Gürel has researched traditional Turkish arts since 1973 and has added new expansions with modern attitude on marbling art, calligraphy, and miniature. He has had several solo exhibitions and has participated in group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Gürel continues to paint and train his students at the workshop in Istanbul.
