Uğur Olgaç was born in Dresden, Germany. She graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. She then studied decoration at many workshops and has participated in many seminars in the US and Europe. In 2000, Olgaç received the bronze prize in the Mystical Millennium competition, which was held in Kentucky in the US. In 2001, she won first place in the Meissen Trophy Competition. Olgaç is a member of the International Porcelain Artist Teacher Inc. Currently, she teaches at the Elma Art Workshop, which she founded with Gül Arık in 1982.
